The Left vs The Right

For the past few years, the political battle has gotten very ugly, and very unChristian.  I have seen it before, when self-righteous Christians say they know what is best, and the rest of us are just stupid, or lack discernment. I especially despise when men put themselves in control of women! JESUS NEVER DID THAT!

Galatians 3:28 confirms this: There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

What I say to those who accuse one side of sins, but forgives the other side  is found in Romans 2:11 ~GOD shows no partiality, or favoritism~ God forgives the sins of all people, politicians too, IF they repent and follow Him.

I was raised as a pastors daughter, and my values stem from an Amish background, which many say is what the Hebrews adapted to when they came to America to escape the persecution of the Jews in Europe. It doesn’t matter, the values are the same. Name calling, insults, lies or exaggerations, stealing, or stealing by using public office for personal gain is NOT what JESUS taught us to do. His second greatest commandment is found in the books of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, and in Leviticus. This is just basic civility and righteousness.

Leviticus 19:18 Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against any of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself.

Matthew 22:39 ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Whether you choose the right or the left, decide which candidate reminds you more of JESUS CHRIST, and heeds the commandments of GOD. If they are not respecting the basic needs of others by respecting their GOD given right to chose their path, DO NOT VOTE FOR THEM. They ARE NOT from GOD.

God tells me in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Also, look at their lifestyle, do they refuse to help those around them, are they morbidly obese, do they cheat on their taxes, do they defraud others, do they cheat on their wives or husbands? If they do, don’t just walk away, RUN! They are heading to the abyss, and anyone who is supporting them is also heading to the abyss! They will bring you with them! Refuse to follow them.

Philippians 3:19 Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things.

Don’t just choose a side over abortion or guns, those are earthly things, and GOD lets mankind make their own mistakes, hoping they will turn to Him, and repent and help others. That is what JESUS did the whole time he was on earth. He would have encouraged a girl to not have pre-marital sex, or have an abortion because the commandment clearly states in Exodus 20:13 ~Thou shalt not kill.

This same commandment applies to the guns, though too many Christians want to own guns to protect themselves. Hopefully one of their children or grandchildren won’t be killed by their guns that they treasure so much. All I say is JESUS did not own a gun, or any other weapon. He is my role model.

So as you choose, find the candidate who wants to help others with healthcare instead of gun rights. The one who want to shelter the homeless and feed the hungry, instead of throwing them in jail. The one who doesn’t swear, lie, cheat, abuse others in word or deed, and can admit fault, and who heeds ALL the Commandments,

And God spoke all these words, saying,
2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
3 “You shall have no other gods before me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing steadfast love to thousands[b] of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work,  10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates.
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
13 “You shall not murder.
14 “You shall not commit adultery.
15 “You shall not steal.
16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.” ~Exodus 20:1-17

Then pray and listen … find the candidate that puts GOD first in their life, and teaches others to help others. It’s not socialism, its what JESUS taught us to do. Stand up to the bullies, stand up to the people who support bullies, and GOD will be with you. Heed the promise in Exodus 14:14:

~ The LORD shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.

Isaiah 30 :21 reminds us, ~Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.~

Thank You, Guardian Angel

I almost didn’t make it to church this morning!

As I was driving, I was singing a song based on Psalm 62 this morning: Only in GOD is my soul at rest, in Him is my Salvation.  My stronghold, My Saviour;  I shall not be afraid at all. I shall not be moved.

~Psalm 62:1-2 Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation.

Then, as I went through an intersection, a older man driving a truck loaded with metal ran the red light! I slammed on my brakes, and then he saw me and slammed on his brakes! This was quite a fright for both of us, as he apologized with a look of relief on his face. Some people say that the Holy Angels of GOD surround those who sing psalms to GOD. All I can say is Thanks Be to GOD, for His Guardian Angels who protect those who fear the LORD GOD of All Creation!

The LORD said: Do not be afraid of the mistakes man makes, especially when they can admit their fault.  I will protect you from the mistakes of man! I’ve got this! Keep doing the work I have given you to do, and I will guard and protect you along the way.

The term Pro-Life is often associated with a political fight. However, I do not think the LORD JESUS Christ agrees with their limited perspective. Of course, killing an unborn child is a sin, but so is not caring for the people who have been born. Not providing for those you have been entrusted to care for is also a sin, especially if indulgent eating, gambling, purchasing fancy clothes and houses, drugs, alcohol, or sex is involved in a way of self indulgence, or self importance.

JESUS CHRIST, reminds us in John 10:10:

The thief comes not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I AM come that they may have LIFE, and have it more abundantly.

Years ago, I did not get along with my neighbor. We fought about everything from lilac bushes, property lines, their cats in our yard tormenting my dogs, and dogs barking. This was such a pathetic time, and finally, I went over there and we had a good chat. I apologized for all the times we were rude and unforgiving. I also apologized for my dog barking at their grandchildren, even though the grandchildren were mean to the dog and threw things at her. The woman acknowledged that she knew her cat was in our yard, and that the grandchildren often behaved badly.

Now years later, the woman planted a new, larger vegetable garden. Last year the crop was poor, but this year the crop is enormous! We are munching away in happiness because she shares her abundance to make amends for all the years of fighting! Just a few days ago, I went to ask their advice about our new boiler, that will be installed this summer. Theirs was installed last summer, and I had a couple of questions. The man, who is in ill health, was so happy to be able to share his wisdom with me.

Who is your neighbor? This is what JESUS said in John 10:29-37:

He wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.  A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.  So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.  But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him.  The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’  “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”  The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

Too many politicians and other important people have forgotten how JESUS CHRIST taught us to love our neighbor, even those we don’t know. The people you are supposed to help often just appear along your path. They will often have no money  or way to pay you back, but help them anyway. GOD will reward you with Eternal LIFE, because Love covers a Multitude of Sins! I love saying that phrase, Love covers a multitude of sins, because people everywhere understand the meaning and importance of love. Scripture reminds me in John 3:16-17:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Luke 7:22: Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the Gospel is preached.

This is how JESUS, our Messiah taught it to us:

Matthew 25:34-49 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.  For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,  I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?  When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.  For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,  I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

Be Pro-LIFE like JESUS CHRIST our Messiah,            and You will Have Eternal Life!

LOVE Never Fails

Do you ever wonder why …

your relatives have so many stories to tell? It’s because life is a journey, not a destination. They want to help you understand your journey so you do not make the same mistakes they did. So,  as I near the end of raising my youngest son, I have learned that I made many mistakes. I wish I could go back and fix them all, but I cannot. So I tell him a lot of true stories, some good and some bad, to help him understand that we have all failed in our lives.

In this age of digital communication, I learned how to text my children to help them save face in difficult conversations. It took a lot of time, but now our communication skills have increased enough to have real conversations. Although I spend most of the time just listening, I can offer advice, LOVEingly. The word “lovingly” is most important, because I do not want them to feel attacked in any way, so we have a successful conversation.

My Journey Today Started at 3am …

God woke me up to pray for lost and separated children and their parents. It was not my choice to wake up at 3am, that is how I know I am a called and chosen intercessor. I pray in God’s timing, not mine. I have had a burden for lost children for many years. It has nothing to do with politics, though I am happy to see others have this burden and are willing to speak out and pray for the lost. Reuniting families is what GOD wants us all to do. JESUS said in Luke 19:10 ~For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.~ He wants all of us to reconciled to GOD The FATHER at the end of our earthly journey.

Matthew 18:1-5 tells this story ~At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”  He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.  And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

I found some old CDs a couple days ago …

Many years ago, a special friend of mine introduced me to some songs I had never heard before. We are the most unlikely of friends, but over 8 years, we have built a beautiful friendship and became prayer partners. I am praying that this friendship can continue.

Unfortunately, politics are causing division and stress in this friendship, and I know that the devil is using politics to divide us. I often think of overly political people as having an addiction similar to overeating and using drugs, alcohol, sex, or money matters to feel better. It is a human vice, and though I vote and am Pro-Life, I do not force my will on others. I believe that GOD has given man free will to choose to follow Him. In fact, my special friend reminded me years ago when we were discussing my children that “we cannot change people, only God can do that. All we can do is pray for them.”

JESUS never once told us to follow the politics, He said to follow Him. I  love the Bible Story about paying taxes in Matthew 17:27 … “so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”

I also love the Two GREATEST Commandments JESUS gave us:

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” ~Matthew 22:37-40

Who I follow and support has to be about GOD’s Love through JESUS CHRIST, our Messiah FIRST, not a politician or elected official.

1 Corinthians 13:1-10 reminds me of  “The Greatest Gift”
~Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;  does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;  does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails.

But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part.  But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away~

I choose to be the one with my head in the scriptures, and my heart in prayerful reverence to GOD, and rejoice knowing that I do not need politics to prepare me for heaven. Until GOD calls me home to Him I will remember the wisdom and instruction in Micah 6:8: What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

One last thing …

1 Corinthians 14:1 ~Seek eagerly after LOVE!~

The LOVE of GOD WILL NEVER FAIL, because GOD Is LOVE! Therefore, I will ask myself, do my actions Glorify GOD the FATHER or share The GOSPEL of JESUS Christ?

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.  If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.  If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”

Without the LOVE of GOD, I have nothing good to share.

There are a lot of “know it all” people in this world who love to offer you their advice. This can be very dangerous when one of those people is in a position of authority to influence you. Mine came in the form of a school guidance counselor. He never really took any time to get to know me, or understand any of the difficulties in my life. If he had any wisdom to offer me he would have known my situation was different than other students.

My situation involved being a Pastor’s child moving from state to state and many schools. When I moved to the region in 6th grade, I could barely understand the accent of the people here. Their diction was horrible, and I would have to decipher what they were saying. Yes, they were trying to speak English, and yes, I grew up speaking English, but in this region, they forget to finish their words. I eventually grew to understand them, though I never really liked their style of speaking. They also love to speak with slang and sarcasm. I am not a fan of either. Jesus Christ didn’t use sarcasm or slang either.

Putting all of that aside, I became a very active music student in high school, and I was pretty good at accompanying as a pianist for the many musical ensembles through competitions, school musicals,  and concerts. When I graduated, I was given a small music scholarship. It was a good thing I didn’t listen to that guidance counselor who told me, “Don’t go to college, honey. You are not college material.” He actually called me “honey” which was very condescending and sexist. I never would have listened to his advice, and I went to college because I knew that was what I needed to do.

I went to a Christian School in the Chicago area, which was far from home, and although they have their own accent, at least they finished their words and spoke without using sarcasm or slang.  I found that very reassuring, and I studied hard. After 4 1/2 years, I was able to get my B.A. in Music Education  though I considered myself to be more of a musician than teacher.

In January, after I graduated, my high school music teacher gave me some good advice. She said, “you should look for a job working at a church. They need people who can teach them what you have learned. ” She was right.  At age 22, I became an Organist/Choir Director for a Congregational Church. I stayed at that position for 15 years, and made many friends. I got to be a musician and teacher just like I learned in college. During this time I was also able to teach piano and voice privately in a Music Studio.

At the church, we had a very kind, loving pastor for the time I was there and when he retired, I knew it was time to move on. After the birth of my second son, I decided to leave church work, and teach full time for a public school. Since finances were not an issue, I also left the studio, transferring my students to a colleague.

During this period, I focused on raising my children. We went to several different churches, and I sang a little with some church choirs. I didn’t really know what I was searching for. I believed in GOD, and Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, but I didn’t really have a sense of belonging. It was then that the calling began.

A local pastor from a different church called me, asking me to help fill in for Weddings and other special church services.  I helped them a few times, and he asked me to come and work for them. I declined, saying that I had enough work, and needed to take care of my children. However, GOD must have been speaking to this pastor, and he asked me several more times to reconsider. Eventually, I decided to help them because God reminded me that my gifts, and my education were from him.

Not long afterwards, I got laid off from my current teaching job. It was a good thing I already had the church job to support my family. It was a very difficult time, for several financial reasons, and I spent much time studying the Bible to find comfort and guidance.  Up until this time, I never really had a personal relationship with GOD. I served Him as a servant of the church, not as a Child of God. Then, a big secret was revealed to me, I wasn’t a baptized Christian, only dedicated to God as Jesus was in the Hebrew tradition. I think that is why GOD sent me to that church, so I could become a Child of God!

So how do you go from being a servant to a Child of GOD? You study the scriptures! The Psalms were especially comforting to me. Here is Psalm 139, verses 1-18, 23-24 entitled For The Director Of Music (how appropriate for me!)

For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.

~You have searched me, LORD, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,”
even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you … Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.~

As I studied the Bible, I started to understand GOD as the Creator of the Universe, and then I started to pray. I learned that special peace that can only be found in prayer, and in understanding the Ways of Elohim, GOD the Creator. I also learned how to pray using the Bible, and found that The Holy Spirit is forever present, because of JESUS CHRIST, the Messiah!

~All who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God~ John 1:12

~Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” ~John 20:21-22

~For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.  For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”  The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,  and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ. ~Romans 8:14-17

My journey is still continuing as my love of the Bible scriptures still grow. Now I understand that the BIBLE is the Revelation of JESUS CHRIST as The Love of GOD.

Now and forever, I am no longer just a servant, but a Child of God who chooses to serve because I belong to Him.  I was called from before I was born, but I needed to answer the call. I am glad GOD was patient with me, and so I will be ~Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer~ Romans 12:12  Amen.

Thank You, LORD!

It’s hard to believe that our Roman Calendar year has come to an end. For me, it’s been a year of ups and downs, particularly in the last month of December.

For those of you who don’t know, my primary employment is in a church. Our church welcomed a new pastor, and we were working on building a Youth Ministry. My job this year was to build a Youth Choir. I can’t help but wonder if this in why the month of December was so difficult. We started rehearsing in November, and actually finished the year today. In January, we will continue.

As I reflected on the many difficulties of this past month, I decided to focus on the good things of the year. Here are my highlights:

  1. A chance to work in building God’s Kingdom with the young and the old.
  2. A GOD who loves us, forgives, and always shows me He is watching over us.
  3. New and continuing friendships to keep me close to GOD
  4. My parents, for their wisdom, love, and help
  5. My son visiting for ThanksGiving
  6. My sister and her family visiting for Christmas
  7. My half, new roof and house siding repair before winter
  8. Two growing Choirs at church
  9. My private music students and the studio to teach them in
  10. Food to eat and share with others
  11. A house to share with those who had nowhere else to stay
  12. Healthcare in the time of illness
  13. Time to spend learning, studying, and sharing the WORD of GOD, The BIBLE

Thank You LORD, for another year. I wonder if you have anything to share about your year? Now, as we go forward in a new calendar year, May …

The Lord bless you and keep you;                                                          The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)

GOD Will Show You, Just Ask HIM

Ask …

This is a very troubling year, with so many disasters and protests. So many people are looking for an understanding of how to deal with the emotions that evolve from situations in their lives. When someone asks me if I am depressed, I always say NO! I have GOD to keep me from getting depressed. That doesn’t mean I do not get sad or frustrated, it just means I cry out to GOD, and I know He hears me. The answer is always quick to follow.

When GOD wants you to do something, you will know. A situation will present itself, and you will need to ask GOD what to do. Do not be afraid, but with an open heart and an open mind, pray. Praying in all situations will always supply the answer you need. Just remember to thank GOD for hearing your prayer and understanding your situation, your heart, and your mind.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. ~Philippians 4:6

If GOD shows you someone in need, you need to help them. Pray first, and ask GOD what HE wants you to do. Sometimes, GOD will have another person ask you. Their heart will be sincere, and you will know that they are asking out of love for the other person.

As I have said before, my house has been a place of shelter for many. They just seem to show up, needing a safe place for a day, a night, or a year. They were often embarrassed to ask for anything. I learned to always have an extra pizza in the freezer, and maybe some fresh coffee cake or brownies. They may already have a sleeping bag and pillow, and they may not. If they don’t, they may not even ask for a blanket. Have them clean and ready!

I am saying this, because GOD may send you some house guests for awhile. It may be your turn to help the poor and the homeless. They may break things, and take up a lot of space. They may be sick, and sloppy. Just show them love, and hope that they are grateful. Then, open your ears and listen, because they will have a story to tell.

There will be many poor and homeless … open your heart and your mind and JUST HELP if GOD sends them to you.

‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’

Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?  And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?  When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’

The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’ ~ Matthew 25:34-40

I know that if you follow the advice of JESUS CHRIST, our MESSIAH …

Your reward will be GREAT in Heaven!

Standing Up to Bullies

I was in sixth grade when I moved to a city in my region. As Salvation Army Officers, my parents moved every three years.  As a shy child, I was awkward with thick glasses, and a bit chubby. I didn’t really know anyone in the neighborhood, so I used to walk to school and back home by myself. Since I walked alone, I was an easy target for bullies.

One day, as I was walking home I noticed a group of  four students following me. They did this for two days. On the first day, I was very afraid they were going to beat me up, so I just walked faster. The second day, they got very close to me and I was sure they were going to hurt me. It was then, that I turned around and screamed at them.

I didn’t use English, or any other language I knew. In fact, I think it was total gibberish that came out of my mouth. Was I screaming in “tongues” ? Perhaps I was. All I know is that they never bothered me again.

If someone is bullying you, Stand up to them. GOD will give you the words to say, just ask Him! Hopefully, you will not have to scream like I did.

Do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given you in that hour what you are to say. ~Matthew 10:19

The LORD shall preserve you from all evil: he shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore. ~Psalm 121:7-8

Politics Divide, GOD Unites

My hearts aches when I see GOD’s people supporting agendas that  do not reflect GOD’s Laws. They have sold their soul to the devil by supporting laws that hurt people. Money and greed have overtaken the political structure. When I see a Minister, Reverend, Rabbi, or Priest teaching politics to their flock, this is the scripture that comes to my mind:

Woe be unto the shepherds that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! says the LORD.  Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel against the shepherds that feed my people; You have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, says the LORD. And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries where I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, says the LORD. ~Jeremiah 23:1-4

I cannot support anyone in government who continually lies or misleads the people.  Nor can I listen to people who speak insults. Their arrogant pride brings this scripture to my mind:

Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,  does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,  does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.     ~1 Corinthians 4-7

We are called to be like JESUS, our Messiah; we are called to be the Children of GOD. When we leave this world, its ugly politics, and all our possessions will not matter. At the end of our lives, NO POLITICIAN WILL MATTER! What will matter is if we have listened and heeded the 10 Commandments given to Moses. They really help me remember how to live:

Then God spoke all these words, saying,
“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
~~You shall have no other gods before Me.
~~You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.  You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,  but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
~~You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.
~~Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work,  but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who [e]stays with you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
~~ “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord your God gives you.
~~ You shall not murder.
~~You shall not commit adultery.
~~You shall not steal.
~~You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
~~You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.  ”

Jesus Christ, Our Messiah simplified The Ten Commandments into these TWO Greatest  COMMANDMENTS,  in the GOSPEL of Matthew 22:37-40

“‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ This is the great and foremost commandment.  The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’  On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”

Anyone who teaches politics in church or in Social Media as a mentor from GOD has broken the First and Second commandment. They need to return to their vows, that they will Serve GOD First by teaching the GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST!

Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,  make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,  who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,  but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.  Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.  For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that AT THE NAME OF JESUS EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,  and that every tongue will confess that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD, to the Glory of GOD the Father. ~Philippians 2:1-11

Just a Child of GOD

When I first joined Twitter, I wanted to share my thoughts and opinions.  As the years went by and my followers grew, The SPIRIT of The LORD reminded me that HE is more important than anything I could say. My opinions began to pale in comparison to sharing The GOSPEL of The Lord JESUS Christ. I began to realize that the @sparrowkeeper was actually just a Child of GOD.

“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God” (Romans 8:14)

So what does being a Child of GOD mean to me personally? Well, it means that I must be able to discern what is from The Holy SPIRIT and what is from humans. The Holy BIBLE tells me: “by their fruits you will know them” (Matthew 7:20)

What fruit is that? It’s in Galatians 5:22-23 ~ the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Anger, fear-mongering, hate, lies, half-truths, personal judgements, false accusations, are NOT Christian values. The Holy BIBLE reminds us many things in Chapter 7 of the Book of Matthew:

“Stop judging, that you may not be judged.  For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.” (Matthew 7:1-2)

The Golden Rule. (Matthew 7:12) “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you.”

The True Disciple (Matthew 7:21-23) “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.  Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?’  Then I will declare to them solemnly, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers.’

The Book of Galatians also offers much wisdom:

Galatians 5:16-21 “Walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.  For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.  But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,  idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

A true Christian must be willing to follow in the example of The LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Here is The GREAT COMMISSION  from Matthew 28: 16-20 ~>  “Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit,  teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

Over the years, I have learned how to discern who truly is a Child of GOD. I do not follow, or listen to anyone else. The BIBLE tells me that “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” (Romans 8:15-16)

I have learned that it is better to study my BIBLE, pray, and listen, than to study conspiracy theories, or fear/hate mongerers. I only have time to do my best to do what JESUS tells me to do in Matthew 25:34-40:

Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.  For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;  naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’  Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’  The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’

Put yourselves in order, pay attention to my advice, be of one mind, live in shalom — and the God of love and shalom will be with you. (2 Corinthians 13:11)
